You can enjoy a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane entrance once per day. If you’d like to re-ride an attraction or see a certain show again within the same day, you are welcome to use our regular standby line.

How to Purchase​

• At midnight the day you are going to the park you can purchase Disney Genie+.  This product has only sold out on the busiest days at the parks (Christmas Day) so you do not have to purchase it at midnight.   I recommend purchasing it around 6:45AM so you have it by 7AM when you can make your first selection. 

• When to Select Attractions
  Once you have Disney Genie+ service, you can select the next available arrival window for your first experience via the My Disney Experience mobile app beginning at 7:00 AM on the day of your visit.

Once you’ve redeemed your initial selection (or the arrival window has passed), you can use the app to check your My Day itinerary or Tip Board to see when you’re eligible to make another selection. You can make selections all day up to regular park closing.

 

 

 

Individual Lightning Lane Entrance

For some of Disney’s  most popular attractions, Lightning Lane entrance access will be available to purchase individually. Guests may purchase and select an arrival window one at a time for up to 1 to 2 attraction a day based on the Theme Park.  This option will be available for all Guests—with or without Disney Genie+ service.

How to Purchase
You can make individual purchases within the Disney Genie Service Tip Board or My Day itinerary in the app on the same day of your visit.

When to Select Attractions

• Guests of a Disney Resort Hotel and Other Select Hotels: These Guests can make their first purchase starting at 7:00 AM on the day of their visit. Available to Disney Resort hotel Guests and Guests of Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels and Shades of Green.

• All Other Guests: These Guests can make their first purchase when the park opens.

When can I select a “next available” Lightning Lane access time? 

 

After you have purchased Disney Genie+ service, you can make your first “next available” Lighting Lane access selection beginning at 7:00 a.m. (regardless of the opening time of the park where you’ll be using it). You can make another selection after you’ve used that first one, OR 120 minutes after your selection and park open, if that next available time was more than two hours in the future. The 120 minute clock does not start running on your first selection until the scheduled regular theme park admission time where your selection will be used.

 

 

Do I have to purchase DisneyGenie+ for my whole family?

 

No, you do not need to purchase it for everyone.  Instead of adding Disney Genie+ to your package you would add it day by day for each guest you would like to include.   The daily price per guest is the same when you purchase it day by day as it is if you purchase it as part of the package, $15 per day per person.

Can different people have different Individual Lightning Lane?  For example, can 2 ride Frozen while 2 ride Remy?)

 

Yes, you have the option to select the guests that you want to purchase the Individual Lightning Lanes for.  

 

 

Can I get a refund if nothing is available?

 

Disney Genie is non-refundable so we highly suggest checking to see what is available before purchasing it.  You can check this on the Tip Board in your My Disney Experience account.

What happens if the ride breaks down at my time?

 

Once the ride is back up you have an hour to return to ride.  If it’s down for the rest of the day please visit Guest Relations at the front of the park for a refund.

Which should I purchase first, Individual Lightning Lane or Disney Genie+? 

 

This depends on the park and the attractions you are looking for.  Ask us for strategies!!!!

 

 

How late in the day are Lightning Lane distributed?

 

This depends on the attraction and the crowd levels.  Some attractions go fast and some you can get late in the day.

How does the 2-hour rule work?

 

If you select a Lightning Lane through the Disney Genie and the return time is more than 2 hours after the current time and after park open, then after 2 hours you can go in and select your next Lightning Lane even though you have not redeemed your first one.  

 

 

How does this work with Rider Switch?

 

If you are looking to use Rider Switch with Lightning Lanes everyone 3 and older will need a Lightning Lane for that attraction.  The child that is riding with each parent will only need 1 Lightning Lane even though they are riding twice.

Can I substitute a Disney Genie+ ride for Individual Lightning Lane?

 

No. They are two separate purchases and you can not transfer or modify selections.

Do you get a refund for bad weather?

 

No, as long as the attraction is running there are no refunds.

Can I hold a Genie+ Lightning Lane entrance selection and individual Lightning Lane entrance selections at the same time?

 

Yes. Guests may purchase and schedule individual attraction selections in addition to any Genie+ selections for the Lightning Lane entrance.
