Where Do You Want to Go? A Guide to Honeymooning with Disney

There is not just one way to honeymoon with Disney. Certainly Walt Disney World is a popular honeymoon destination but let’s not forget about the Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney and Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa located on the island of O'ahu. Each of these experiences offers something a little different so let’s take a look at each in more detail.

Walt Disney World

As I said, this is a very popular place for honeymooners and it’s easy to see why. There is so much to do all in one place. From the parks to the spas to the world class entertainment, if you are looking for variety, Walt Disney World is a great option. One of the perks of this destination is that there is a resort to fit almost any budget. Disney has three different types of resorts, Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. They all offer different amenities but by staying on property you get the perks of Extra Magic Hours, MagicBands and not having to rent a car.

The list of things you can do on vacation there is really endless. Some of my favorite recommendations for honeymooners is to enjoy the excellent food while you are there. And again, their is a wide price range and lots of variety when it comes to restaurants. One of my favorites is the California Grill at the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It’s has beautiful views especially at sunset, or you can watch Wishes, the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom, while you dine! There are numerous fantastic restaurants around the World Showcase at Epcot. Chef de France, La Hacienda de San Angel, and Le Cellier all have delicious food and fantastic ambiance. I will talk more about dining in an up coming blog.

The next thing I recommend is taking in all the live performances and music. It’s everywhere! For a comprehensive overview of all the entertainment at Walt Disney World you can find an article here all about it.

And of course you can't forget the spas. The two main ones are Senses at Disney’s Grand Floridian and at Disney’s Saratoga Springs. You do not need to stay at these resorts to take advantage of all they have to ofter. They are a perfect way to relax after all the activity of a wedding. If you are looking for some quieter green space, try one of three 18 hole golf course or the 9-hold, par-36 walking course.

Last but not least, you have four world class theme parks to enjoy, two awesome water parks and Disney Springs, a unique mix of boutiques, one-of-a-kind eateries and jaw-dropping entertainment!

Disney Cruise Line

You love Disney but the parks are just too much, you want to sit back and relax? A cruise on the Disney Cruise Line may just be the perfect honeymoon for you. With the Caribbean, Europe, the California Coast, Alaska and the Bahamas as destinations, there is plenty to choose from. The cruises have little touches of Disney magic, you can see the characters, live Disney shows, and delight in the creative cuisine.

There's also adult only areas of the ship where you can sit and relax. The Quiet Cove Pool is for guest 18 years of age and older, where you can soak up the run and recharge. Right next door is the Cove Cafe, and adult only lounge where you can get your morning coffee or your pre-dinner drinks. There is also restaurants options onboard that that cater to the kid-free guests.

Then you can choose your own adventure when you reach the ports. Again, the options are endless, from snorkeling to submarine tours, to exploring royal castles and majestic fjords, to whale-watching excursions or Mexican cooking lessons! A Disney Cruise is a great option for a couple looking to relax while having a little time to explore.

Adventures by Disney

If you are looking to spend a lot of time exploring Adventures by Disney can’t be beat. Disney has created itineraries to take you into destinations all over the world from Australia to Central American to Africa and Asia. You enjoy the service of Disney while being immersed in the local culture. Disney has also planned experiences you can’t get anywhere else. And their are adult only adventures perfect for couples honeymooning. The wonderful thing about Adventures by Disney is they take all the work out of planning and traveling. Their thoughtful itineraries give you a great balance of tours and experiences while also giving you time to explore on your own.

Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa

Perhaps for your honeymoon you want to visit paradise. Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Ko Olina on the island of O’ahu in Hawaii is exactly that, paradise. This is a place you can truly get away. The resort has many ways to relax; pools, the beach, golf, and the spa are just to start. There are also hiking excursions that take you into the rainforest, horseback riding on the beach, or enjoy looking for whales and dolphins on a catamaran.

And if you want to explore the island just a 40 minute drive away is Waikiki. Pearl Harbor is also about a 30 minute drive. Of course there are a bounty of lagoons and beaches that have surfing and snorkeling.

Disney has truly covered the globe with exceptional experiences. Where do you want to go?
