My Disney Experience Mobile App: Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah! The World Is At Your Fingertips

Your vacation is booked and the countdown begins; it’s the perfect time to download the My Disney Experience mobile app! Technology that once seemed possible only in Future World is now available for your iPhone, iPad or Android smartphone. Trust us when we say this is one tool you don’t want to start your vacation without! Remember those dining reservations and FastPass selections that your goMagic Vacation Planner helped with? Well, the mobile app puts it all at your fingertips.

The My Disney Experience mobile app is as convenient and innovative as Magic Bands! Start your morning by checking to see what your day holds: sign in to your My Disney Experience account and go to My Plans. Here, you can access your FastPass selections and times for all guests in your party, dining reservations and other pre-arranged activities. Need to make a change? You can modify FastPass selections by switching current rides, shows and character greetings for new ones. Keep in mind FastPasses are limited, so your desired change may not be available. The app allows you to view options before making a selection, so you know ahead of time whether making the change is best for your party. Need dining reservations or want to change an existing one? You can search by park or resort, and filter by price, availability, cuisine or other factors. And because many Disney dining reservations require 24-hours advance notice of a cancellation, be sure to review the particulars for your reservations before making any changes.

Ready for the fun to begin? Use the mobile app to find your best transportation options to Disney theme parks, water parks, resorts and other areas like Disney Springs or the Wide World of Sports. Go to the property map, filter by your location and then go to Get Directions. You’ll find approximate travel times and routes for buses, monorails, ferries, and even walking - whatever is available from your resort or location. It even considers factors like transfers, so you always know how to get where you want to go!

Say your day begins in the Magic Kingdom...go to Today’s Showtimes to access entertainment schedules so you don’t miss a moment of one of the parades or nighttime shows. Want to start your day with a hug from one of your favorite Disney characters? It’s easy if you go to the Magic Kingdom map and search by Characters. You’ll see every character greeting spot in the park from Main Street USA to Tomorrowland! Or, do you positively need to meet Tiana? Click on the list icon in the lower right corner and you can search by character. Want to experience some great rides and attractions? You have several options: find what’s nearby with the My Location screen, search by Wait Times, or make a selection using the Filter feature to locate rides based on factors such as height restrictions, rider limitations, or age appropriateness. And although Disney makes every effort to keep things running smoothly, attractions can sometimes close unexpectedly. The app will update to show unplanned (and usually temporary) closures.

And now for the practical magic! Did your ride on “it’s a small world” just end and someone needs to quickly find the closest restrooms? The My Location feature allows you to zoom in so that you can easily and quickly find the services you need to find easily and quickly. Whether you need restrooms, Baby Care Centers, First Aid facilities or Guest Services, you can browse by amenities on the navigation bar for each Park, attraction or resort. Results will display on the map and you can also obtain walking directions. Hungry? The Dining tab provides information such as hours, price ranges, menus and participation in the Disney Dining Plan. Craving a turkey leg? Go to the search feature and find the closest spot! Using Disney’s Memory Maker to help capture your vacation memories? Whether you’re using Memory Maker or simply seeking a great photo opportunity, you can locate all PhotoPass spots on the navigation bar, with those helpful map locations and walking directions included.

Planning a Disneyland resort vacation? You’re in luck there, too! The Disneyland Mobile App has you covered at Disneyland and California Adventure. Similar to the Walt Disney World app, it offers park information, maps and schedules, menus and dining reservations, and attraction wait times. Disneyland and California Adventure do not have the same FastPass technology as Walt Disney World, so you won’t be able to access and update your FastPasses through the app, but you can check out which rides, attractions and character greetings offer the FastPass. Similar to Walt Disney World, the Disneyland Mobile App also allows you to view and manage your PhotoPass photos.

The My Disney Experience mobile app is easy to navigate and so user-friendly that even Goofy would get the hang of it quickly. However even with its intuitive design, it’s best to familiarize yourself with all of the features before you embark on your vacation. Easily finding wait times, menus, transportation options, entertainment schedules, FastPass return times, and so many other conveniences is sure to help make your magical vacation even more enjoyable!
